Framing
I have well established relationships with local and online suppliers. This means I can offer to frame your artwork to a professional standard at a very reasonable price.
I usually work to standard formats, so you could frame the work yourself with off-the-shelf frames, or I can post unframed work direct to your local framer.
Bespoke frames for drawings
I can source countless frame styles from my preferred suppliers. During the creation process, I am more than happy to ‘mock up’ your picture in one or more frames. Here is an example, provided to a client who wanted a warm mount card and simple gold frame.
Non-reflective & UV protection glass
Since seeing it in galleries, and noticing the staggering difference, I use non-reflective glass which filters out 70% of UV rays, on commissioned and original work.
Bespoke frames for oil paintings
During the painting process, I am more than happy to ‘mock up’ your painting in a choice of frames. Here is an example, provided to a client during the painting of an equestrian portrait. The horse painting was at an early stage, but it was enough for him to be able to visualise the framing options:
Where clients have ordered extra printed copies of oil paintings (which are hand varnised, on canvas) these can be framed in exactly the same way as originals.
I work on either “canvas on board”, or “stretched/box canvas”. Box canvas can be hung unframed:
Both styles can be framed in traditional frames or tray frames.
Box canvasses can alternatively be hung unframed, as the painting continues round the sides.
For very large paintings, or where the customer wants to arrange framing for themselves, box canvases are ideal, since the canvas can be removed from the frame and rolled for transport.
